Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries throughout the world. Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. Save the Children has grown enormously in the country and today we operate in 13 provinces across Indonesia. Our program in Indonesia has made significant progress at the national policy level and in the Bandung, West Java metropolitan area in facilitating family-based care for neglected and vulnerable children. EVERYONE (SEMUA) is Save the Children’s comprehensive program to improve health and survival of children under five in Indonesia. SEMUA aims to contribute to the acceleration of achieving MDG 4 and 5 by strengthening government systems and policies, and by empowering communities to demand quality health services. SEMUA will achieve its goal through; 1) high impact programmatic interventions that are later scaled up, 2) targeted advocacy to influence policy at the district, provincial and national level, 3) popular mobilization to build goals through implementation of individual health, and 4) generation of resources to support program implementation. In addition to SEMUA, Save the Children in Indonesia’s school health and nutrition program promotes improved hygiene, access to water, promotion of key health and nutrition practices. Currently Save the Children immediately need for experienced staff to be part of our project implementation team and will be based in Jakarta. The position we are looking for is: Senior Program Manager (Health) for SEMUA (code: SPM SEMUA – Jkt) – 1 post, based in Jakarta The post holder is directly report to Program Director – S/he is responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and monitoring and evaluation of individual projects under the SEMUA program. S/he will ensure that individual projects contribute to the broader objectives and goal of SEMUA. In close collaboration with individual project managers s/he will lead national level popular mobilization and advocacy efforts with support from the Save the Children communications staff. S/he will also be responsible for designing new programs and drafting proposals with support from Save the Children program staff. In addition, the PM will supervise Save the Children’s school health and nutrition program.. Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide team leadership in implementation of SEMUA plan, inclusive of program, advocacy and popular mobilization and resource mobilization. 2. Provide effective staff supervision to SEMUA project managers and school health and nutrition staff 3. Ensure SEMUA/Save the Children is recognized as a valuable partner in national level MNCH and MDG discussions 4. Provide technical leadership for the current and new programs 5. Ensure SEMUA monitoring and evaluation plan is designed, implemented and reported on in accordance with global guidance. 6. Ensure individual projects contribute to monitoring and evaluation of SEMUA indicators as per SEMUA monitoring and evaluation plan. 7. In collaboration with communication and advocacy staff and individual project managers ensure SEMUA advocacy efforts are coordinated among individual projects 8. Ensure SEMUA project managers and their teams have access to and regularly utilize updated information on global best practices for implementation of high impact health interventions. 9. In collaboration with communications staff, ensure design and implementation of popular mobilization activities support achievement of SEMUA goal and individual project objectives. 10. Ensure achievements of SEMUA are regularly communicated to Every One Global teams as per reporting guidelines. 11. Ensure appropriate use of SEMUA branded materials to support popular mobilization and advocacy efforts. 12. Establish and maintain relationships with both government and private donors. 13. Ensure high quality reports are submitted per donor guidelines Requirements: Education: Bachelor degree in related discipline, Master of Public Health preferred. Skill and Experiences: · Minimum 7 years work experience with non-government organizations in maternal, newborn and child health with at least 5 years experience in managing development programs, preferably with international NGOs. · Strong technical knowledge of evidence based practices to promote improved maternal, newborn and child health. · In depth knowledge of community-based approaches to improve health and nutrition status of children under age five. · Proven ability to effectively advocate for national level policy change. · Proven skills to effectively build and manage a team. · Proven ability to manage budgets from a wide range of donors. · Proven ability to manage financial resources according to donor and organization regulations and reporting requirements. · Demonstrated ability to develop concept papers and project proposals in English. · Experience in design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans. · Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents in Bahasa and English. · Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural & multi-disciplinary team with strong inter-personal and management skills. · Excellent self-motivation and initiative to establish working relationships across diverse projects. · Ability to effectively manage competing priorities. · Patience, & flexibility. · Willing to travel around SC premises program/project areas.
